У Старій міській ратуші Спліта відкрилася виставка «Між снами і реальністю» (Između snova i jave), що представляє добірку творів із колекції Національного музею сучасного мистецтва Хорватії. Експозиція охоплює майже 150 років розвитку хорватського модерного та сучасного мистецтва і триватиме до 22 березня 2026 року. На виставці представлені роботи ключових постатей хорватського мистецтва, серед яких Влахо Буковац, Мірослав Кралєвич, Наста Ройц, а також митці другої половини ХХ століття й сучасності, зокрема художниця Ката Міятович. Разом ці роботи демонструють художню еволюцію країни — від раннього модернізму до сучасних мистецьких практик. За словами директорки Музею міста Спліта Весни Буліч Бакетич, що виставка привозить до центру Спліта найкращі зразки хорватського образотворчого мистецтва, багато з яких раніше ніколи не демонструвалися місцевій публіці. Мистецтвознавці відзначають, що виставка дозволяє простежити глибоку трансформацію художньої мови в Хорватії. Митці модернізму початку ХХ століття, зокрема Мірослав Кралєвич, відіграли ключову роль у відході від академічних традицій і запровадженні нових художніх підходів, натхненних європейськими модерністськими течіями, такими як імпресіонізм і постімпресіонізм. Саме ця модерністська революція створила підґрунтя для подальших експериментів другої половини ХХ століття — від експресивного живопису до концептуального мистецтва і відео-арту. У сучасних роботах, представлених на виставці, зокрема у творчості Кати Міятович, художники дедалі більше звертаються до тем пам’яті, ідентичності та внутрішнього досвіду людини, що відображає ширші культурні й соціальні зміни в суспільстві.
Exhibition “Between Dreams and Reality” in Split Traces 150 Years of Croatian Art
The exhibition “Between Dreams and Reality” (Između snova i jave) has opened in the Old City Hall of Split, presenting a selection of works from the collection of the National Museum of Modern Art of Croatia. The exhibition covers nearly 150 years of the development of Croatian modern and contemporary art and will run until 22 March 2026. The exhibition features works by key figures of Croatian art, including Vlaho Bukovac, Miroslav Kraljević and Nasta Rojc, as well as artists of the second half of the twentieth century and contemporary creators, among them the artist Kata Mijatović. Together, these works illustrate the artistic evolution of the country, from early modernism to contemporary artistic practices. According to Vesna Bulić Baketić, director of the Split City Museum, the exhibition brings some of the finest examples of Croatian visual art to the centre of Split, many of which have never before been presented to the local public. Art historians note that the exhibition makes it possible to trace the profound transformation of artistic language in Croatia. Modernist artists of the early twentieth century, particularly Miroslav Kraljević, played a key role in moving away from academic traditions and introducing new artistic approaches inspired by European modernist movements such as Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. This modernist breakthrough laid the foundations for the artistic experiments of the second half of the twentieth century, ranging from expressive painting to conceptual art and video art. In the contemporary works presented at the exhibition, especially in the art of Kata Mijatović, artists increasingly address themes of memory, identity and the inner experience of the individual, reflecting broader cultural and social changes within society.
